Kusadasi is located of Turkey's Aegean coast in Aydin. It is a resort town in the province. The main sector of Kusadasi, which is 95 km away from İzmir, is tourism. The name Kusadasi comes from the fortress built in Güvercinada, which has an important military base for the Byzantines.

It is not known who the city of Kusadasi was founded by. However, it is believed to be founded by the Ionians according to the ruins found. The city was established in the old town of Andızkulesi. It has also hosted many different civilizations. Kusadasi is one of the main ports opening to the Mediterranean in ancient times.
