Isa Bey Mosque | Ephesus & Virgin Mary House Tour

Isa Bey Mosque is located in the Selcuk district of İzmir, between Saint-Jean Church and Temple of Artemis. It was built by Aydınlıoğlu İsa Bey in 1375. İsa Bey Mosque has 2 main entrances to the east and west. On the west side are inscriptions and carved geometric shapes. While these walls are covered with marble, the facades on the other sides are made of cut stone.

Twelve round columns are surrounded by porches inside the courtyard. The brick minaret is built on an octagonal base and the upper part of the balcony is devastated. There is another minaret in the west of Isa Bey Mosque, which is now completely destroyed. The mihrab moved to another mosque due to a door opening there. Right next to Isa Bey Mosque, there is an octagonal mausoleum made of stone and brick with a pyramid-shaped roof.
